Our story, our philosophy and our founders
Our story
C3 Planning was formed in 2025 when its founders met on an unusual case, under unusual circumstances.
They realised that strategic, legal and planning policy expertise is the ideal combination to form a strong 'defence team' to fight invasive and aggressive planning applications.
With close to 100 years combined experience, no case is too complex, and no more applications are guaranteed to proceed, even if the case officer is advocating that they should do.
WE DON'T ACT FOR DEVELOPERS
We assist YOU. Be you a neighbour, a Parish Council, a community group, or an interested party, we are here to help.
How much you pay us isn't our driver. We are fortunate that already we can pick and choose the work we do, the cases we take on. If we do take up your 'cause' we will live the case with you. We answer our phones, we are real human beings. We respond to emails, we will update you regularly on your case. Morally, we are all aware of our responsibilities, and the influence we can, on occasions have.
We will represent you at committee, in fact we take almost all of the anxiety out of the process for you as our clients.

Appeals and Judicial Reviews...We never say never though - what does your case involve?
If we don't know, we know people who do. We have a close working relationship with one of the country's leading heritage experts. We have access to road safety consultants, and a number of environmental experts, each specialising in a particular theme of 'Green' planning. We consult these experts on your behalf, as part of our service.

Our Founders
Richard S - is a senior planning specialist and environmental lawyer, with 35 years' call. A former partner at a top national law-firm, Richard has seen nearly everything across his career. He was nominated as a Sunday Times Top 10 lawyer in environmental planning.
Mark M - has an entire career in senior planning. Heading up busy metropolitan departments, and quieter rural areas, he's said yes, or no, to literally hundreds of planning schemes of all shapes, sizes and forms. Knows the national planning framework inside out, and having been a senior planning officer in two south east planning authorities, Mark can tune this extensive knowledge to suit your case and aims.
Jon M - has 30 years experience as a strategic planner and management consultant. He loves a challenge, and loves a win. Experienced in politics at a national level, he is an ally it's great to have on your side. Creative and adept at understanding "which way the wind is blowing"
